Rotary Club of Cochin City has initiated a project called VIDHYA DHAAN an Educational support program for the need across Kerala. Over 20 lac rupees has been disbursed to more than 120 children across Kerala, each of whose parent is serving a life sentence. Students from lower primary up to engineering, law and paramedical courses are benefited from the same. As much as this project opened our eyes to the lives of a neglected section of the society, it also gave us recognition as the best community service project of the region in 2011-12. It is now our resolve to continue this project on a larger scale by increasing the number of beneficiaries.
